Grand Prix Cycliste de Saguenay : an organization that works for you!

Gathering together more than a hundred athletes from all corners of the globe, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Saguenay is an exceptional world-class event allowing teams of Continental level cyclists to participate in a high-calibre competition. Sanctioned by the UCI America Tour, our race fits perfectly into a series of several North American competitions, allowing teams to bridge between the Classic of Philadelphia (Sunday, June 4, 2017) and the Tour de Beauce (from June 14 to 18, 2017).  For most of them, including our Canadian athletes, it is a further opportunity to participate in a competition that will allow them to accumulate points and improve their standing prior to the Olympic Games.  Our various courses provide their level of difficulty, whether the criterium on Saturday evening or the three road competition stages.  All our efforts will be implemented to ensure maximum safety for athletes as well as for the many spectators along the course.   The competition will also showcase the level of Canadian and Quebec athletes in a discipline becoming increasingly more structured in Quebec, and highlight the expertise we have developed over the years in organizing international road cycling competitions.

Holding such an event would be impossible without the partnership of various governmental authorities and the local population.  This is why we take pride in joining with our many sponsors in order to continue providing our athletes with an activity that will meet their expectations, and offer them a warm and pleasant stay, hoping that they come back to visit us, either on holiday or to take part in future competitions.

More than 230 volunteers participate in the preparations and the smooth running of the competition, not to mention the involvement of a board of directors composed of members from various backgrounds, all of whom have at heart the success of this event.  We invite you to consult our 2016 technical guide available on the blue tab on the “Home” page to learn more about the progress of this competition.

Welcome to our athletes and visitors!
